Karkey rental power plant has broken the record for producing the costliest electricity in Pakistan

The Turkish origin plant is being run on furnace oil and costs Rs 28 per unit and is delivering electricity to the Karachi Electric Supply Cooperation at price of Rs 6.52 per unit.The government is giving the Rs 21.48 per unit subsidy on the electricity produced by Karkey plant.According to sources, the increase in the price of furnace oil has raised the oil bill by 3.5 percent.
