PM Imran distributes cheques amongst successful applicants under Kamyab Jawan Programme

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday distributed cheques amongst the successful applicants under ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’ in Islamabad.

Addressing the cheque distribution ceremony in Islamabad on Friday, he congratulated those who have received cheques and said, “I wish cheques should be distributed on merit.”

Imran Khan said that more than 190,000 women have applied for the loan under ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’, adding that the active participation of women in business activities is a good omen for the country. 

 

The prime minister said that it is the duty of the government to provide business opportunities to the people and remove obstacles in the way of business..

He said, the country’s youth have pinned their hopes with the ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’. The Pakistanis living abroad have made strides in every field, the PM said.

PM Imran Khan said that the small and medium industries employ a large number of people and play an important role in economic development of the country.

Highlighting the importance of tourism business in the country, he said Pakistan is blessed with many beautiful and scenic places and local youth can get benefit by creating new tourism-related businesses to attract domestic and foreign tourists. It will also help in generating the revenue and foreign exchange reserves.

Imran Khan said it is just the beginning and scope of such programmes will be expanded in future.

During the ceremony, cheques valuing up to Rs5 million were distributed amongst the youth, while Rs100 billion have been allocated in the first phase of ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’.

Earlier, in a statement, Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’ is turning into a reality and is a fulfillment of the promise made by the Prime Minister with the youth.

Usman Dar vowed to economically empower the youth.

He said under the program, hundreds of thousands of the youth have expressed the desire to start their own businesses. He said this program has set a record of popularity in the youth.
