Two more polio cases surface in KP

The total number of polio cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year now stands at 68.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Two more cases of polio have been surfaced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday after which, the toll has been escalated to 68 in the province.

According to details, polio virus has been detected in a four-month old boy belonging to Lucky Marwat and an eleven-month-old boy belonging to Dera Ismail Khan.

Pakistan is among three countries in the world, including Afghanistan and Nigeria, where polio virus still exists and the country remains under a polio-linked travel restriction imposed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

In 2014, the WHO made it mandatory for all people travelling from Pakistan to carry a polio vaccination certificate.
