PS-11 Larkana by-election: GDA candidate ahead of PPP candidate
Polling process began at 8am on Thursday and continued until 5pm.
LARKANA (Dunya News) - Polling for by-election in the Sindh Assembly constituency PS-11 Larkana-II has ended and the counting of votes is under way.
The main contestants for the seat are PPP’s Jameel Ahmed Soomro and Grand Democratic Alliance’s Moazzam Ali Khan Abbassi. Soomro is the political secretary of PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
According to unofficial results of 113 constituencies, GDA candidate is ahead of PPP candidate.
GDA’s Abbasi is leading with 226747 votes against PPP candidate who got 21675 votes.
Abbasi confirmed that results of 100 polling stations show that we are in lead, adding that people of Larkana are fed up with PPP.
He said entire machinery of Sindh government is supporting PPP candidate. The polling process began at 8am on Thursday and continued until 5pm.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, 138 polling stations were set up in the constituency for the 152,614 registered voters, of which 83,106 are male and 69,598 female.
Twenty polling stations in the constituency were declared highly sensitive and 50 sensitive.
The seat fell vacant after the Supreme Court de-seated GDA’s Moazzam Abbasi for failing to declare his assets in his nomination papers.
