Punjab government cut special allowances for officers

The Punjab government has cut the special allowances for officers, saving Rs 1.25 billion.

The officers appointed in the departments of the Punjab government at various projects were receiving monthly allowances up to Rs 0.4 million. The allowances are causing Rs 1.24 billion annually to the provincial exchequer. According to the sources, most of the receivers of allowances belong to the District Management Group of the federal government.
