PM chairs NSC meeting to discuss India's cluster bombing along LoC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Sunday has chaired meeting of National Security Committee (NSC) in Islamabad to discuss cluster bombing by Indian army along Line of Control (LoC).

According to details, both political and military leaderships are attending the session for briefing over the ongoing security condition in the country. The participants are also deliberating upon the internal and external matters.  


India violates Geneva Convention by using cluster bombs on civilians: ISPR


Earlier, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor released a statement, claiming that Indian Army had used cluster ammunition to target the civilian population across the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in violation of the Geneva Convention and international law.

The Indian military, on the intervening night of July 30 and 31, targeted innocent citizens including women and children in Neelum Valley through artillery using cluster ammunition – resulting in the martyrdom of two civilians, including a boy, as per the statement.

Indian army deliberately used cluster bombs to target civilian population, resulting in the injuries of eleven other people, who sustained critical bullet wounds, according to military’s media wing.


Indian allegations of cross LOC action by Pakistan mere propaganda: ISPR


Major General Asif Ghafoor said Indian allegations of cross LOC action by Pakistan and possession of bodies are mere propaganda.

He said such blatant lies and staged dramas are Indian disinformation manoeuvre to divert world attention from increased atrocities by Indian Occupation Forces inside occupied territory.

DG’s response came after Indian media claimed that Indian Army has foiled an infiltration attempt by a Pakistani BAT (Border Action Team) squad in Keran Sector where 5-7 Pakistani army regulars were eliminated and their bodies are lying on the LoC.

Later, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal said curtailing Amarnath Yatra and deployment of additional troops on baseless pretexts are designed to divert world’s attention from attempts to change the demographic structure of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and unabating state-led oppression and egregious human rights violations.
