Ministry of Water and Power has issued the notification for the increase in power tariff.

In accordance with the agreement with IMF, the government has increased power tariff by 8 to 16 paisa. The increase will not apply to life line consumers. The government, according to its agreement with the IMF, has been increasing power tariff since 2009 by 2 percent a month. By this June, the government will totally abolish the subsidy on power tariff.
