Downpour in various areas of the country brought a relief for the heat-stricken people.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted more rains for two days in the upper and plain areas of the country.Heavy rain with strong wind brought respite from sizzling heat in various areas of the country including, Peshawar, Hangu, Kalam and Dir in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Lahore Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Rajanpur and Muzaffargarh in Punjab, on Thursday.Though rain gave relief to people from heat, it created difficulty for farmers, who were reaping the wheat crop. According to the PMD, a westerly weather system will enter the country through Balochistan during the next 24 hours. The westerly weather system will cause thundershower with gusty winds at scattered places in upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and at isolated places in DI Khan, Multan and DG Khan.
