IHC hears petition seeking ban on PTM, summons reply from all parties on June 3.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday conducted hearing of a petition seeking ban on the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) and summoned reply from all parties including the interior ministry, PTM Chief Manzoor Pashteen, Members National Assembly (MNAs) Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and Pakistan Television (PTV) on June 3.
Justice Amir Farooq heard the case. The court directed the interior ministry, PEMRA and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to strictly ensure the implementation of laws.
Let it be known that the petition had been filed in the IHC against PTM for speaking against national institutes including Pakistan Army. The application was filed by Colonel (r) Javed Iqbal.
The applicant asked the court to put social media accounts of PTM leaders on halt. The application said PTM is not a registered political party so it must be banned.
The application further stated that PEMRA should stop coverage of PTM bigwigs on media.
