Heavy rain lashes parts of country including Lahore

Heavy downpour in different areas inundated roads and streets in the provincial capital of Lahore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds lashed Lahore and other cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday night, Dunya News reported.

The rain lowered the mercury in Lahore, bringing much-needed respite to the residents in the month of Ramazan. Over 300 Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) feeders tripped because of the rain and gusty winds, plunging many parts of the city into darkness.

Heavy downpour in different areas inundated roads and streets in the provincial capital of Lahore and commuters faced immense difficulties while trying to carry on with their routines.

Rain was also reported from Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Murree, Kala Bagh, Chiniot in Punjab and Peshawar, Abbottabad and Lower Dir in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during next 24 hours. However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.
