PIA indicates increase in fare

Due to limited financial resources, PIA is facing serious troubles.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has indicated an increase in fares, sources privy to Dunya News reported.

Details suggest that the decision has been taken has the operational expenses have escalated due to airspace closure of Pakistan.

Moreover, the flight duration of several cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Multan and others have increased by 30 to 60 minutes. This has also caused the price hike.

Due to limited financial resources, PIA is facing serious troubles. 

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Friday said that Pakistan airspace will remain closed for all transit flights till Saturday (March 9). According to the notification issued by CAA, the airspace has been closed for all overflying (transit) flights till March 9, 10:00EST.



Some transit flights between the north and south of the airspace have been permitted.
