The ministry said inflation has adversely affected the defence budget during the last few years.

The Ministry of Defence has demanded the defence budget should be allocated keeping in view the rupee-dollar parity. The ministry said inflation has adversely affected the defence budget during the last few years and dollar was set to gain more value in 2011 and 2012, and that was why military expenditure has gone up.The ministry also demanded the early release of last military budget tranche of Budget 2010-2011.
