Pakistan, S Arabia agree to enhance bilateral relations

OIC Secretary General Dr Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen also met PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have on Wednesday agreed to further enhance their bilateral relations.

In his two-days official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Imran Khan held meetings with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen and other officials.

During the meetings, matters pertaining to mutual interest, bilateral relations, trade, investment and economic ties came under discussion.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razzaq Daud and Pakistan s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hasham bin Saddique were also present in the meetings.

On arrival in the palace of Saudi King, the Prime Minister was presented guard of honour.On the occasion, tunes of national anthems of the two countries were played.

PM Imran Khan in his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah reviewed historical relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and discussed ways to furthering the ties in various fields.


OIC Secretary General calls on PM


Earlier, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen met PM Imran Khan and discussed issues of mutual interest and the challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua and Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Khan Hasham bin Saddique were also present during the meeting.


PM Imran pays respects at Roza-e-Rasool


On Tuesday, the prime minister paid his respects at Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) and offered Magrib prayer and Nawafil in Riaz-ul-Jannah.

The doors of Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) were specially opened for the prime minister and his delegation.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi after meeting with his Saudi counterpart Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir said that PM Imran Khan s visit to Saudi Arabia will further strengthen bilateral relationship.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has strong foundation.
