The minister claimed that PTI will win the elections without any hurdle

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Arif Alvi would be elected as the President of Pakistan as the party has the support of required number of voters, imperative for winning the top slot.

Talking to media after a meeting of the senior party leadership in Bani Gala with Prime Minister and party Chairman Imran Khan in the chair, he said that the PTI enjoys support of all of its allied parties, including Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam, Balochistan Awami Party and Grand Democratic Alliance, adding that the name of Dr Arif Alvi is final from the party for election to the slot of President.

The minister claimed that PTI will win the elections without any hurdle.

He said that the revolutionary decisions taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan has helped saving millions of rupee of country’s exchequer.

Chaudhry said: “The prime minister had taken historic and unprecedented decisions in the recent Cabinet meetings, which helped saving millions. The newly democratically elected Prime Minister has inspired the whole Cabinet by setting precedents and surrendered his discretionary powers.” Imran Khan was the role model for the entire Cabinet, the Minister said.

Regarding new TV channel, he said that the government has decided to launch two new channels of PTV, a dedicated Sports Channel to cover all sports except Cricket and the present PTV Sports shall be re-branded as PTV Cricket, while the second channel would be dedicated for Children under sixteen.

He also said that PTI government has already abolished censorship from Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television.

About the advertisements, he said he will give a detailed briefing in this regard and monopoly regarding the advertisements relating to government was being completely ended.

Earlier, during the meeting, matters pertaining to forthcomming presidential election came under discussion. The meeting decided to contest the presidential poll scheduled on September 4, with full vigour. The senior PTI leadership mulled over devising a comprehensive strategy to achieve success in the election.

The meeting was attended by the senior PTI leaders including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Chaudhry Sarwar, Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed, presidential nominee Dr Arif Alive, NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, federal minister Amir Kiyani, Iftikhar Durrani, Yar Muhammad Rind, Khusru Bakhtiyar and others.

Meanwhile, three senators from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have also joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ahead of the presidential elections.

Senators Aurangzeb Khan, Haji Fida and Sajjad Toori called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and joined the PTI. 

They expressed their confidence in the vision of the prime minister. Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak was also present on the occasion.
