General elections 2018: 'Peep;Peep' Pick and drop for Voters

More than 3500 vehicles have been rented out from Peshawar general bus stand for voters.

(WebDesk) - Election campaigning is over; action day is all set to hit the voters for polling in Pakistan. From security arrangements to the delivery of ballot papers and ballot boxes, all the necessary and possible preparations have been done ahead of general elections 2018 in next 24 hours.

To facilitate their voters, political parties and contestants hire the transport vehicles. At the Peshawar general bus stand, more than 3000 vehicles have been leased out.

According to Ataur Rehman, the manager, general bus stand, other than buses and coaches, more than 3000 vehicles have been rented. Around 450 vehicles have also been transported from general stand to different districts to ease the transportation for voters to reach to their respective polling centre by the political parties and the contestants running in general elections 2018.

These vehicles are also hired by the election commission of Pakistan to make an effortless transportation for the staffers and other electoral officials.

After renting out the vehicles, next is to make the fuel arrangements. Vehicles in long lines are queued up for filling up the fuel tanks.

‘We have leased out more than 500 vehicles. For every vehicle, we have been given 8500 along with food and other facilities. We are required to travel to Bajaur and Mohmand agency’, told a transporter.

After hiring the vehicles in such a number from general bus stand, a deficiency of vehicles for public transport has emerged for the passengers required to travel to other districts from Peshawar.
