BEGUM KOT (Dunya News) – At least eight persons were wounded in clash between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) workers in Begum Kot area in the jurisdiction of Shahdara Police Station near Lahore on Wednesday.

According to details, Ikram-ul-Hassan, TLP UC ameer, along with his workers was busy in fixing flexes of Sheikh Umair Jahangir, TLP candidate of PP-144, in the area when PML-N workers came there and barred them from doing so, saying that only PML-N’s candidate Malik Riaz flexes will be fixed in this area.

Workers of both parties exchanged harsh words over the issue but residents of the area in a bid to avoid further clash sent them back to their respective election camps.

However, the PML-N workers equipped with sticks reached the election camp of TLP after some time and beat the workers of religious party as a result, eight persons were wounded.

The religious party workers informed police about the incident but they failed to reach the spot. Police behaviour infuriated TLP workers who staged a protest and blocked road at the Begum Kot Chowk for all kind of traffic.

The protesters demanded of the police to arrest former MNA Malik Riaz and his supporters. They also threatened to continue their protest till the arrest of attackers.
