Justice Qureshi also summoned the UC chairman with relevant records on Tuesday.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) Monday directed authorities concerned to vacate a graveyard of the Christian community from land grabbers.

Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi heard a petition filed by the Christian community. The petitioners’ counsel, Advocate Azhar Siddique, argued that a major portion of the land had been seized illegally.

He said that the total area of the graveyard, in Lahore’s Jalo area, was estimated at 11 kanal and 16 marlas. However, Seth Abid, an influential businessman, seized some 6 kanal and 11 marlas which reduced the total area to 5 kanal.

Justice Qureshi ordered DCO Lahore to submit a report on the matter, saying the court won’t tolerate land grabbing at graveyard of the Christian community. He also summoned the UC chairman with relevant records on Tuesday.
