LONDON (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Saturday alleged that his party candidates and their families were intimidated to join ranks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

He was talking to media in London outside Harley Street Clinic.

“PML-N’s candidates and their families are being threatened and are forced to switch loyalties. Our contestants are being forced to return tickets whereas our candidate from Multan Rana Iqbal was subjected to torture”, claimed Sharif.

Sharif went on to say that his PML-N was the only target [ahead of elections]. Sharif also urged caretaker premier Nasirul Mulk to take notice of arrest of Qamarul Islam, the PML-N’s candidate who is contesting elections against Chaudhry Nisar.

Sharif warned against stern public reaction if pre-poll rigging wasn’t halted. While obliquely lambasting Chaudhry Nisar, Sharif taunted that all knew whose symbol is jeep.

At present, Sharif and his political heir-apparent Maryam Nawaz are attending ailing Kulsoom Nawaz in London while Shehbaz Sharif is leading party’s election drive.

Earlier, Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday directed party’s top brass to register ‘strong protest’ against anti-graft watchdog as National Accountability Bureau continues to tight noose over alleged corruption.

Sources privy to development stated that Nawaz Sharif—who is attending ailing Kulsoom Nawaz in London—has made contacts with several party’s leaders over NAB actions and directed them to devise strategy at earliest.

The supremo vowed to return to country as soon as health condition of his better half gets better. At present, Kulsoom’s health has barred Sharif from leading election campaign of the party.
