Several residents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are celebrating Eid today.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan will be celebrated on Saturday after the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced the non-sighting of the moon for the month of Shawwal.
However, several residents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are celebrating Eid today after an unofficial moon-sighting committee in Peshawar headed by Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai announced that the moon has been sighted in various parts of the province.
The committee has claimed to have received at least 45 evidences from across the province.

On the contrary, the KP government has officially declared observing Eid on Saturday with the rest of the country.
A large number of people are returning to the hometown to celebrate Eid with their families. Preparations for the occasion are also in full swing as the residents head to markets for Eid shopping.
