General polls: CJP bars candidates from wall chalking

CJP said that its responsibility of ECP and judiciary to hold fair and transparent elections.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday has barred the candidates contesting in upcoming general elections from wall chalking.

During the hearing of a case pertaining to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) code of conduct, CJP directed to use banners and posters so that the people can get a clear idea of the candidates.

He said that its responsibility of ECP and judiciary to hold fair and transparent elections in the country.

Moreover, the top judge has strictly ordered to implement the instructions.

It is worth mentioning that general elections 2018 for Lower House of the Parliament and all provincial assemblies will be held on July 25.
