LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Friday said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the biggest leader of Asian sub-continent who struggled for the indepence for 47 years.

Addressing a ceremony in Lahore on Friday, he said that Pakistan had to become an Islamic welfare state but this country has lost its vision.

Khan said that a society cannot progress where there is no merit, adding that once Ayub Khan was welcomed at the US aiport while now Pakistani prime minister is stripped naked at the airport.

The PTI chairman said that we will not succeed until we returned to the vision on which our country was formed. “Our passport would gain respect after making Pakistan a an Islamic welfare state,” he added.

He said that today Pakistan is facing bigger issues, adding that the country’s debt has increased from Rs6,000 billion to Rs27 billion in the last 10 years.

“Whoever would form next government will have to deal with bigger challenges facing the country,” he said.
