(Web Desk) – Muslims across the world observed their first fast of the holy month of Ramazan which began on Thursday in various parts of the world and in Pakistan.
Ramazan, which begins through the sighting of the moon, is the month of fasting in which Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk.
In Pakistan, the first fast was observed on Thursday as people made their way to local hotels to have sehri – the meal at dawn, following which they abstain from eating and drinking till sunset. Sales of food and fruit vendors sky-rocketed as people thronged to buy eateries and fruits for the iftar – the meal which breaks the fast at sunset.
