PM Abbasi and Shah have finally arrived at a consensus over the name.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Opposition leader Khurshid Shah on Friday finally arrived at a consensus pertaining to the name of caretaker PM.

Talking to media, Shah refused to reveal the name and said that the announcement will be made on May 15.

“The name of caretaker PM is secure in my heart. I will not tell it to media no matter how many time they ask,” asserted Shah.

In a previous meeting between PM Abbasi and Shah, names of former finance minister Dr Hafeez Pasha, former chief justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and former governors of State Bank Dr Shamshad and Ishrat Hussain were taken under consideration.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) finalized three names for caretaker Prime Minister. Sources say that the names were finalized after PTI chief’s consultation with senior leaders.

The names include Abdur Razzaq Daud, Tasadduq Jilani and Dr Ishrat Hussain to opposition leader Khurshid Shah. Daud has remained Trade Minister in the cabinet of former president Pervez Musharraf from 1999-2002.

Tasadduq Jilani has served Chief Justice of Pakistan fom 2013-2014 while Hussain has remained governor State Bank from 1999-2006.

Shah later expressed exasperation over leakage of the names.

The opposition leader stated that he was flabbergasted on PTI’s move to make names public. “At present, there is no need to sit with PTI. The jurisdiction to finalize name of caretaker Prime Minister rests with me and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi”, uttered Shah.

Responding to Shah’s accusations, PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry held the notion that his party had neither formally released names nor released any statement in the aforementioned regard.

“Utterance of such harsh remarks merely on the basis of newspaper’s clipping is astonishing. PTI has assigned this task to vice-chairman Shah Mehmmod Qureshi. Had Khursheed Shah consulted Qureshi, It would have been better than issuing statements”, asserted Fawad.

Fawad rued that Shah had not consulted Qureshi to verify the news.
