Govt fails to transfer 5 ministries to provinces

Second phase of ministries devolution process under 18th Amendment has not yet completed.

Implementation Commission on 18th Amendment will meet on March 21 again to discuss the transfers of ministries to provinces. Meeting of the Implementation Commission was held under the chairmanship of Raza Rabbani in which the issue of transfer of 5 ministries to provinces came under discussion. Talking to media after the meeting, Raza Rabbani said that all the said ministries would be shifted to provinces till June 30. According to sources, provinces have reservations to take contract employees of the ministries. The provinces have also informed the commission about their reservations over salaries and seniority of the employees. The ministries including Tourism, Social Welfare, Special Education, Livestock and Dairy Development and Culture will be transferred to provinces.
