JI decides to quit PTI-led coalition govt in KP
JI leader Mushtaq says party's minister will tender their resignations next week
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Jamaat-e-Islami has finally decided to quit the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP).
JI Peshawar chapter chief Mushtaq Ahmed Wednesday confirmed that the party had decided to quit the alliance with the PTI in the province. He added that the JI minister would tender their resignations next week.
He said that the decision had not been made on the basis of "differences". "We will continue to support the provinical government," he said, adding that the decision was not aimed at weakening the ruiling PTI in the province.
The announcement came four days after JI chief Siraj Haq claimed that the PTI had voted for Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani after an “order from the top.”
Two days ago, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak clarified that the "order from top" meant Bani Gala [the name of the place where PTI chief Imran Khan’s resides].

It may be mentioned that the JI has decided to quit the party after remaining the PTI’s ally in KP for over four-and-a-half-years.
