Hajj corruption case: FIA arrests Hamid Saeed Kazmi from court room

Former federal minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi arrested from courtroom.

Kazmi was arrested after the court cancelled his interim bail during the hearing of Hajj corruption case on Tuesday. Hearing of the Hajj corruption case was held in the court of special judge central Suhail Nasir in Rawalpindi.The court in its verdict said that Kazmi was directly involved in Hajj corruption and his bank accounts and property also proved the corruption charges. After the court’s decision, FIA arrested the former minister from the courtroom and shifted him to the FIA headquarters in Islamabad. Kazmi will be presented before the court on Wednesday to obtain his physical remand.Earlier, the court had reserved decision on extension in Kazmi’s bail. Kazmi’s lawyer Khurram Latif Khosa maintained that Kazmi was not involved in the corruption in Hajj affairs and his name was not registered in any FIR. The lawyer maintained that the case against Kazmi was politically motivated.FIA Additional Director (Legal) Khalid Butt presented the letter for appointing Hamid Faiz as a supervisor of buildings in Saudi Arabia. He said that red warrants were issued by the magistrate after getting all the proofs.
