Government plans action against protesting doctors

The Punjab government has decided to take action against the protesting doctors.

The Health Department will cancel the registration of post-graduation training of the doctors who were taking part in protest. The department will also serve show cause notices on the protesting medical officers, besides informing their parents about their activities. The government said that doctors’ strike was unnecessary and it was creating problems for patients.A representative of the Young Doctors Association said that the doctors would continue their protest, until the acceptance of their demands. Doctors in Punjab are on strike since March 1 for increase in their salaries. They said that they would continue their protest until the acceptance of their demands.
