SC directs crackdown against quacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Friday directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health commission chairman to take action against quacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and shut them down within a week.

Chairman of KP Health Care Commission appeared before the court and told that at least 15000 fake doctors exist in the province while 122 of them have been banned.
“The quacks are destroying the lives of the people. No one will issue a stay order and if any person wants one he should come to Supreme Court," ordered the CJP. "What is your salary?” he asked the chairman.
He replied that is being paid Rs5 lac. While reprimanding him, the CJP said, “Your pay is Rs5 lac but your performance is zero.”
The CJP also summoned report of closing inquiry against fake doctor Qudratullah. “How did a matric pass doctor was appointed in government hospital? Why did the inquiry was stopped on the directions of Chief Minister?” asked the Chief Justice.
In a case pertaining to health and education, the CJP remarked, “What sort of a province is this where the secretary is being paid less than the chairman of Health Care Commission.”
“Mr Secretary! You are a very innocent man. How come a man working as your sub-ordinate is receiving higher salary than you?”
