Condition of hospitals in Balochistan: CM Bizenjo appears in SC following CJP's orders

The court has expressed resentment over doctors' strikes in different Balochistan hospitals

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Balochistan (CM) Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo on Monday has appeared in the Supreme Court (SC) Quetta registry in a case pertaining to the condition of hospitals and colleges in the province.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar summoned Balochistan CM to clarify his stance regarding steps taken for the betterment of basic facilities including education and provision of clean water.

The court has also expressed resentment over doctors’ strikes in different Balochistan hospitals and sought details of the budget reserved for health sector.

He further asked Chief Secretary to tell if he has any issue with federation so that it can be resolved for the improvement of the province. 

Earlier, CJP Justice Saqib Nisar had taken notice of the delay in provision of justice to the families and victims of 2014 Model Town incident and summoned a report from Punjab government on reasons behind delay.

He directed a provincial law officer to submit a report of the provincial authorities in this regard. CJP took notice of the matter on request of a daughter of woman who was killed in the incident.
