KARACHI (Dunya News) – Prolonged electricity load-shedding on Wednesday has disrupted the daily life and business activities in Karachi.

KE Communications Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement Director Sadia Dada had hinted at increasing power cuts in parts of the metropolis in the holy month of Ramazan.

He said several feeders tripped in the city due to sudden increase in demand of electricity. He further said that electricity was also affected due to low pressure of gas.

Getting irked with the power crisis, the locals living in Liaquatabad has demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar to take action into the matter. They said that their business activities have badly affected by these outages.

Children, elderly people and patients are facing problems due to continuous load-shedding in this hot weather, they added.

The sweltering metropolis of about 23 million people accounts for half of Pakistan’s national revenues and is home to the stock exchange, the central bank and a giant port.
