(Dunya News) – The return of international cricket to Pakistan has brought smiles to cricket fans across the country. But as the nation welcomes cricket back to its grounds and stadiums, a thalassaemia centre in Karachi is making sure its patients aren’t left behind in the celebrations.

With the last match of the T20 series scheduled to be played on Tuesday between Pakistan and West Indies, excited fans are glued to their television sets. In a thalassaemia centre close to the National Stadium, the administration has organised a special screening of the final T20 match for its young patients.

With faces painted with flags and slogans, clad in green and red shirts support their teams, children in the ward anxiously await the last match of the series.

“I hope West Indies wins this match, because they made the effort to come and play in our country,” said one of the thalassaemia patients.

While some rooted for the West Indies team, others were sure Pakistan would win this match as well.

According to the doctors of the thalassaemia centre, the screening aims to spread smiles by helping children join in the celebrations.
