Dunya News

The court will form new bench after which hearing of the case will be continued from April 6.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Full bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) hearing anti-judiciary speeches case against Sharif family on Monday has dissolved for the second time.

The bench broke as Justice Shahid Mubeen excused himself from hearing the petitions due to personal reasons.

It is to be mentioned here that a three-member bench was formed under the supervision of Justice Muzahir Ali Akbar Naqvi to hear the case against ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other PML-N leaders.

The court will form new bench after which hearing of the case will be continued from April 6.

Earlier, Supreme Court (SC) had dismissed contempt of court petitions against Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar.

The plaintiff said that Nawaz Sharif, after disqualification in Panama case, delivered speeches against Joint Investigation Team (JIT) which is unlawful over which the CJP said that the former PM used inappropriate words against JIT, not the court. We have record of anti-judiciary speeches of Sharif family which will be raised on a suitable time, he added.

Earlier, Islamabad High Court (IHC) had declared petition filed against ex-prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz’s anti-judiciary speeches as admissible.

Justice Amir Farooq conducted hearing on the plea of Adnan Iqbal during which, the plaintiff said that Nawaz and Maryam are spreading anarchy against courts, adding that their speeches come under contempt of court therefore, launch investigation against them, he urged.

LHC had also merged contempt of court petitions against Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz. The judge asked advocate Azhar, why he is not approaching Supreme Court (SC) for this case over which, he responded that LHC can also hold proceeding on it.

On August 10, Nawaz Sharif departed for Lahore from Islamabad via GT Road and reached on August 13 amid applause and love from the passionate Pakistan Muslim-League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters.

Throughout the journey, Nawaz Sharif addressed in big cities including Gujrat, Gujranwala, Muridke and Lahore and denied the SC decision, asking his workers to support him.
