LAHORE (Dunya News) – Dr. Raghib Naeemi of Jamia Naeemia has on Sunday demanded to give exemplary punishment to the accused who hurled shoe at Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) quaid for life Nawaz Sharif.
He also demanded to arrest and punish those who acted as facilitators in the unpleasant incident. He termed whole episode as an ‘ulterior attempt’ to sever the madrassa’s ties with the Sharif family.
While commenting on Khatam-e-Nabuwwat issue, Naeemi demanded to make report of Raja Zafarul Haq committee public.
Earlier today in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif was attacked with shoe at Jamia Naeemia.
Nawaz Sharif had gone to the religious seminary to participate in a ceremony. While he reached rostrum to address the gathering, a middle-aged bearded man threw shoe at him and raised slogan.
The event caused immediate commotion in the hall as others attending the gathering grabbed hold of the man and started beating him.
Yesterday, a man attacked Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif with ink in Sialkot while he was addressing a workers’ convention.
