Women changing rooms in shopping malls are vulnerable to CCTV cameras: report

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – According to the latest report, hundreds of women changing rooms of clothing outlets in at least 58 shopping malls have been found unsafe for customers after authorities attended to an issue reported in a Faisalabad shop earlier in February.

District administration has compiled a report in the issue after inspection, asserting that women changing rooms in shopping malls are vulnerable to CCTV cameras and several facilities were found with holes in the walls.

The report states that ceiling structures of several outlets’ rooms are complication while rooms in some shopping malls are used as kitchens as well.

The development has come after an inspection team was formed by the administration following a scandal in one of the shops that led to registration of a First Information Report (FIR). Two suspects were held in the case.

Chief of the probe team Ahmer Kaifi has warned the outlets today of stern action henceforth if any try room of a shop is found in violation of the code cleared after the incident.
