Faisalabad: Explosion outside security agency, 24 dead

At least 24 people were killed and 100 others injured in a bomb blast outside the office of a security agency in the Civil Lines area of Faisalabad on Tuesday.The police surrounded the area soon after the explosion as rescue teams arrived at the scene. The intensity of the explosion was such that a nearby CNG station, 10 cars and three buildings were completely destroyed and efforts to remove the rubbles of the buildings were underway.On the other hand, District Coordination Officer Naseem Sadiq said that the explosion occurred when a car filled with explosive material exploded. The police have also arrested a suspected terrorist who was injured in the blast.Emergency has been declared in all Faisalabad hospitals. The number of casualties is expected to rise, police said.
