Cold weather reigns in several parts of country

In the next 24 hours, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Dense fog and cold weather continue to grip various areas of the country on Tuesday as rainfall added chill to the atmosphere.

Rawalpindi and Islamabad received late night rain and intensified the cold wave. The temperature in the twin cities was recorded four degrees centigrade.

On the other hand, snowfall has once again begun on the mountains including those in Dir Bala. The striking weather has attracted a number of tourists to the destination.

In the morning, -7 degrees in Skardu, -4 degrees in Kalat and -3 degrees in Rawalakot was recorded.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is present along western and upper parts of the country and may persist till Wednesday.

In the next 24 hours, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm (with light snowfall over the hills) is expected at isolated places in Malakand division Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Dense fog is likely to occur in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning and night hours.
