Protest of doctors for salary raise goes on

Doctors protest in Punjab entered fourth day on Friday as the doctors vowed to continue their protest until the acceptance of their demands.

The protest was started on Tuesday and doctors stopped attending indoor and outdoor units at the government hospitals, besides staging demonstrations. However, patients are being treated in indoor units now. “The salaries we are receiving are not sufficient to meet our expenses and we will continue our protest till we not get an increment”, the doctors said.The strike severely troubled the patients who could not afford to visit private hospitals.
