ECP serves show-cause notices to PTI, PSP, MQMP among 317 parties
Parties were required to file Rs0.2 million registration dues and a list of at least 2,000 workers.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued show-cause notices to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQMP), Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Tuesday among 317 political parties for violation of Elections Act.
Sources privy to the commission have reported that the authority has summoned replies from the front within a period of 15 days.
The parties were required to file Rs0.2 million registration dues and a list of at least 2,000 workers and notices were issued over non-compliance with the order.
Reportedly, the commission will de-list the parties which fail to reply to the show-cause notice.
It should be noted here that details provided by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were approved by the ECP.
