Kohat: Transgender community stage protest against police behaviour
The protesters stormed Tehsil Gate police check post in Kohat and chanted slogans against police.
KOHAT (Dunya News) - According to details, residents of Sangeerah area of Kohat have lodged a complaint at the Tehsil Gate police check post against the members of transgender community residing in the area for arranging dance parties at their homes during night.
The residents in their complaint asked the police to shift the transgender community to some other area as dance parties during night cause hardship and inconvenience to the neighbours.
A police party from Tehsil Gate police check post visited the area on Monday and asked members of transgender community to vacate their houses.
Infuriated by the police action, the members of transgender community staged a protest and stormed the Tehsil Gate police check post. They also chanted slogans against police. The officials locked the doors of the police check post to save themselves.
The members of transgender community dispersed peacefully after the intervention from SHO City Police Station.
