Israeli flag was lit by the protesters while they aim at gathering around US consulate on Friday

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami on Friday held protest in Karachi against the unjust occupation of Jerusalem by Israeli forces.

The Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) leaders chanted slogans against the Israeli army and called the US move to name Jerusalem as Israel capital as damaging for the regional peace.

The demonstrators burnt Israeli flag and announced to gather around the US consulate on Friday.

The student leaders initially had the plan of protesting outside the US consulate, however, police forces at the location stopped the protesters from doing so. A large number of people attended the rally and voiced their concerns over the controversial US decision.

Police had shut down the route using containers and other obstacles. Karachi commissioner and other members of local administration held successful negotiations with the IJT leaders before they dispersed and allowed the law enforcement forces to restore the situation.

IJT has announced to protest outside the Karachi consulate of the US in order to criticise the Trump administration.
