Karachi: People protest as petrol pumps close down

Due to the complete shutdown of petrol pumps in Karachi, people come out on the streets to protest. Traffic disrupted as sit in protest blocked traffic at Rashid Minhas road.

The drop in profit margin led the petroleum association announced a token strike which led to a complete shutdown of all the petrol pumps in Karachi. Due to the shutdown of all petrol pumps in the city, the people are facing a lot of difficulties. Angry and frustrated people vandalized public property in Nazimabad, Gulistan Johar and other regions. The police and the rangers were called in to control the situation and they baton charged the people.People protested at the closure of petrol pump at Rashid Minhas road. The people blocked the traffic due to which there was a severe traffic jam at Ayesha Manzil and Rashid Minhas road. The protesters parked their cars and motor bikes at the petrol pump and protested on the streets and chanted slogans. At some petrol pumps harsh words were exchanged between the people and the management due to non availability of petrol.
