Ashraf Asif Jalali on late Friday called off protest after signing agreement with Punjab government.

LAHORE (Dunya News/APP) - Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYRA) faction led by Dr Ashraf Asif Jalali ended the seven-day long sit-in protest in Lahore on late Friday night after reaching an agreement with Punjab government, Dunya News reported.

Soon after signing the agreement with Punjab government, Dr Ashraf Asif Jalali called off the sit-in protest in different areas of the city and asked his supporters to disperse.

The protesters left the Mall Road and other areas of the city where they were staging sit-ins after the announcement of the agreement and the roads were cleared for the traffic.

Talking to the media at the sit-in place late Friday night, Dr Ashraf Jalali said that they were ending up their sit-in after having successful talks with a committee of the Punjab government.



According to Dr Ashraf Jalali, the sit-in was being ended on the basis of following agreement with government representatives:

a) Raja Zafarul Haq s report would be brought forth till December 20, 2017.

b) The 27th November s agreement between TLYRA and the federal government would be implemented to the letter.

c) A committee comprising Ulema of all schools of thought would be constituted to decide about the number of load-speakers in mosques.

d) Mutahida Ulema Board, Punjab, would review the educational syllabus pertaining to Deeni (Religious) topics/matter.

e) Mufti Abid Jalali would be made member of Punjab Ulema Board.

f) A committee would also be formulated regarding resignation of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah.
