851 Americans enjoy diplomatic immunity in Pakistan

Foreign Affairs State Minister Hina Rabbani Khar told the National Assembly on Friday that more than 2,500 foreigners, out of which 851 are US citizens, in Pakistan have been given diplomatic immunity.

Quoting a report that was submitted to the National Assembly, she said that the government has awarded diplomatic immunity to 2,570 foreigner diplomats. According to the report, the US officials have a clear lead in this respect as 851 US officials enjoy diplomatic immunity in Pakistan. The government also had given the diplomatic immunity to 170 Britons, 168 Saudis and 117 Indian officials, the minister said.
