ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) is to hear disqualification petition against foreign minister Khawaja Asif today for alleged attempt to not disclose his foreign residential permit as was the case with disqualified premier Nawaz Sharif according to the opposition.

Justice Amir Farooq-led special larger bench of the high court is set to hear the petition on Monday. The minister was ordered earlier to file a reply over the plea.

A petition was moved in the high court by Usman Dar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the minister seeking his disqualification after Nawaz Sharif was disqualified in July on PTI’s plea.

Top court had delivered a verdict on July 28th this year disqualifying president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in a corruption reference which was pursued by PTI, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Awami Muslim League (AML).
