Three terrorists killed as Rangers thwart suicide attack at imambargah in Rohri

Proper investigation into the matter will be launched once the terrorists are identified.

ROHRI (Dunya News) – Rangers officers on Friday killed as many as three terrorists, who were planning to carry out suicide attack at imambargah in Rohri, a town of Sukkur District in Sindh province.

According to Rangers spokesman, the operation was conducted on a tip off received from intelligence agency regarding presence of militants in the province.



He revealed security personnel deputed at check point near Bab-e-Karbala Imambargah tried to stop three militants but they increased their speed after which an exchange of firing took place between both parties.

Two terrorists also tried to explode their suicide vests but Rangers launched action and killed all of them. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was also called on to defuse the confiscated vests.



The official said that proper investigation into the matter will be launched once the terrorists are identified.

On the other hand, Sindh government along with law enforcement agencies tightened up the security arrangements across the province on the occasion of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s (RA) Chehlum which is being observed today.
