Arrested suspect denies involvement in Karachi knife attacks
The suspect clarified that he is not involved in this crime as he has never been to Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The issue of knife attacks in Karachi has become more complicated when alleged suspect Waseem, who was arrested from Mandi Bahauddin, denied the accusation during initial investigation.
The suspect clarified that he is not involved in this crime as he has never been to Karachi, continuing that he has no enmity with any woman.
The officers said that Waseem was previously caught red handed when he was attacking a woman in Sahiwal so we cannot believe on his statement. Deputy Inspector General East (DIG) Sultan Khawaja said that Waseem is among all other suspicious people whose way of attacking is similar to that of Karachi knife attacker.
Sources told that the suspect is likely to be shifted to Karachi until the completion of investigation whereas forensic of his mobile phone will also be done.
According to the details, first street stabbing case was reported in Karachi on September 25 and the last such reported crime incident was reported on October 5. Preliminary investigation suggested that the criminal attacked 12 women in ten days within a five-kilometre area.
