End special immunity laws for intelligence departments: Pervez Rashid

Muslim League-N leader Senator Pervez Rashid said that the special laws providing safety and immunity to intelligence agencies and sensitive departments should be abolished, while Ministry for Human Rights confirmed that 150 people were missing till date, Dunya News Reported.

A meeting of Functional Committee of Senate for Human Rights held under the chair of Afrasiyab Khattak.Speaking to the meeting, Senator Pervez Rashid said that there were complains of kidnappings against ISI and other intelligence agencies that enjoy power to abduct anyone and nobody can raise question on this act.Rashid urged that the special laws regarding protection and immunity to the intelligence agencies should be removed. He said that Raymond Davis was held by chance, if police warden and common people had not take hold of Raymond, he a would have managed to take asylum of the American Consulate and then fled the country like the murderers of Ebad ur Rehman.He said if the government had put the killers name on ECL, they would not have managed to flee the country and the federal government and Interior Ministry should be prosecuted for this negligence.Meanwhile, Human Ministry authorities informed the meeting that the situation of human rights worsened in Pakistan specifically after 9/11 and missing of 150 persons had been confirmed till date.
