Judicial commission delays appointment of 2 ad-hoc judges

Judicial Commission has delayed the issue of appointment of 2 SC ad-hoc judges after the protest of lawyers. The commission has approved the 1-year extension in the tenure of 6 additional judges of the Sindh High Court.

The meeting of the judicial commission was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in which six additional judges of Sindh High Court named Justice Imam Bakhsh Baloch, Justice Nisar Muhammad Sheikh, Justice Muhamamd Tasneem Ahmed, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Salman Ahmed were given extension for one more year. While, names of three judges Abdul Hadi Khoso, Zahid Hamid and Syed Zakir Hussain were rejected. The commission also delayed the issue of appointment of two SC ad-hoc judges Justice Ramday and Justice Rehman Hussain Jafri. Justice Ramday was retired on February 17, 2011 while Justice Hussain was retired in November 2010.
