PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – At least five people including political tehsildar Fawad Ali and levies personnel were killed in a bomb blast in Bajaur Agency on Sunday.

According to official sources, a remote-controlled bomb blast took place in Loi Mamund tehsil. Several people were also injured in the incident.

Security forces have arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Search operation is underway in the area to nab the culprits.

Violence in Pakistan has declined in recent years following a series of military offensives against insurgents along the northwestern border.

But militant groups are still able to carry out bloody attacks, particularly in the northwest.
