Doha launched visa-free entry for 80 nationalities, visa-on-arrival for Pakistan amongst others

(Web Desk) – Qatar just launched a visa-free entry offer for 80 countries along with visa-on-arrival scheme for countries including Pakistan, according to Qatar Airways website. Pakistanis can now visit Qatar through visa-on-arrival, meaning that they don’t have to apply for a visa and can walk into the Gulf country with their green passport.

For a green passport holder Pakistani, the only eligibility is to have a minimum validity of six months prior to the arrival time. Pakistanis can stay in Qatar for a maximum of 30 days. Also, a return or onward ticket has to be purchased for the flight.

A number of Pakistanis already live in Qatar for employment. As much as 90 percent of Qatar’s population comprises of foreigners, a large number of which came from South Asia. The Middle East country has a population of 2.4 million people.

Arab nations including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Yemen and Egypt had cut ties with Qatar accusing it of supporting extremism, in the biggest diplomatic crisis to hit the region in years.
